Hi, my name is Frank Gallagher – yeah, no, not that Frank Gallagher – and I started this blog because there’s a lot going on here in the local Portland, Maine, music scene and no one seems to be writing much of anything about it.
So I decided to start doing exactly that.
That said, if you’ve spent any time reading this blog, you’ve probably noticed that new posts are sporadic, at best. That’s because I’m busy. I’m also a working musician myself. When I have time, I write. When I don’t, I don’t. If you send me some stuff and I don’t get to it, don’t take it personally. Like everybody these days, I’ve got too much to do and not enough time to do it.
Beyond that, I write about what I like. Perhaps more importantly, I give preference to musicians with physical product. I’m more likely to write about your stuff if it’s on a record, cassette, or CD. I’m not saying you have to send me free stuff to get a write-up — although I’ll never say no to free stuff. I’m saying that musicians who have physical product available on their website or their Bandcamp page, or wherever, are more likely to get some ink that those who don’t.
So, if you’ve read this far and you’re still with me, go ahead, send me your stuff.
